This great exercise technique was developed by Joseph H. Pilates a German, from as early as the 1920's. It was developed based on his knowledge of:</p>

<p>There are several advantages associated with Pilates exercise and they are as follows:</p>
<p>·	The body becomes strong, long and lean. Also the core of the body is strengthened by targeting the back, buttocks and abdomen therefore ensuring a strong spine.<br />
·	It lessens stress and tension whilst increasing power and enhancing circulation, flexibility and motion.<br />
·	If you use a mat properly in your pilates exercise there is no strain and injury to your body. And you won't feel pain or get overly tired.<br />
·	Pilates can be used as rehabilitation exercises in physical therapy</p>

She is a former horse training assistant but, due to her great love for Pilates, she was able to become a Pilates instructor and create the great Supreme Pilates machine as a result. This piece of equipment enables you to do Pilates more efficiently and more, importantly, on your own. There is added resistance and this makes you work your muscles harder, therefore burning more fat and calories.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The <strong>stamina Pilates</strong> method, has long been described by many experts and professionals as the "perfect exercise system".  So, why is this?  Well, one of the reasons is the fact that it is attractive to many classes of people and situations. For example:</p>
<p><strong>Athletes</strong></p>
<p>For many years,  Pilates has been performed by athletes.  Many practitioners use Pilates to work with athletes whose progress in their chosen sport or art has been hindered by tight muscles, injuries or simply needing to be strengthened in a new way.</p>
<p><strong>Bodybuilders</strong></p>
<p>Just like athletes, bodybuilders love Pilates.  They are often surprised to discover that even with lighter weights, they can fatigue their muscles.</p>
<p><strong>Rehabilitation After Injury</strong></p>
<p>Every human body has certain imbalances that can be realigned through Pilates especially when an injury has been sustained and needs rehabilitation. It is different from most other physical therapies in that it strengthens the entire body, not just the injured or imbalanced parts which explains why, during the early days, most of the famous choreographers sent their ballet dancers to Joseph Pilates for rehabilitation from their injuries.   As a result, they found that the downtime from an injury was less than half resulting from the continued overall body conditioning.</p>
<p><strong>Poor Posture</strong></p>
<p>Many people these days have bad posture.  Basically, the problem with body posture is that the body is thrown out of alignment resulting in pressure on ligaments, tendons, muscles and joints in ways that may cause chronic disorders.  Pilates can be used to improve the posture by correcting the alignment, making the person look tall and long, slimmer and more confident.</p>
<p><strong>Chronic Tension</strong></p>
<p>Pilates can also be useful for those people who have chronic tension.   One particular reason to support this claim is that the method, being a strengthening and body conditioning system will help the body release tension.  As the body releases tension, it gains more flexibility and truly strengthens.  Note that the injury mainly occurs when the muscle has lost its flexibility or suppleness.</p>
<p><strong>People Who Wish to Strengthen Their Small Muscle Groups</strong></p>
<p>Pilates, at its most basic, focuses on working and strengthening the small muscle groups, which are the intrinsic muscles.   These small muscles are actually the ones responsible for the core support of the body.  Most strengthening programs work primarily on the large muscle groups but,  Pilates, on strengthening the core muscles first in order to change the placement of the bones, which are the framework of the body.  As these muscles strengthen, the impinged nerves, muscles and bones are released from being crammed together to a freedom in their range of motion.  So, they can move freely.</p>
<p><strong>Those Who Take Responsibility of Their Future</strong></p>
<p>As you may know, several problems are set to happen as we aged.  Thus, the <em>stamina Pilates</em> method gives us a way to train for our future.  Starting Pilates is much like investing money for your retirement.   Note that strong bones and muscles, good posture, positive attitude and freedom of movement can be worth more to you because of the improvement to the quality of your life.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you are looking for an exercise routine that will burn fat while helping you create a longer, leaner physique consider pilates. The program is design to help increase your strength and flexibility as well as burning calories. This approach to exercise is one of the best ways to start on the road to good health.</p>
<p>Many personal trainers suggest using some sort of weight resistance when trying to burn fat. The weight helps your body to build muscle. That muscle actually burns calories even when you are at rest. Building a lean muscle mass is the key to turning your body into a fat-burning machine.</p>
<p>However, some of us who have tried adding weight to our workout routines find ourselves feeling stiff and tight. We lose flexibility and range of motion when we work out with weights too much.</p>
<p>Pilates is designed to stretch and lengthen the muscles of the body. You will swear that you have grown an inch in height after a few weeks of working out to pilates DVDâ€™s on a regular basis. I felt longer and leaner after spending a few dedicated weeks practising my workout.</p>
<p>While strength training is still a great way to stay in shape and to build bone mass it does require some balance. Pilates helps to create a balance for you. The weight exercises tighten and shorten muscles while the Pilaties lengthens them. The result is a lean, fat-burning physique that is also flexible and relaxed.</p>
<p>The only complaint I have about the program is the lack of logical advancement. Many DVDâ€™s are designed for beginners who are not in the best of shape. Of course, this is the ideal place to start in any routine. However, the advanced DVDâ€™s seem to jump to an almost professional level.</p>
<p>Adding ankle or wrist weights is a viable alternative that will help provide some challenge to the workout. The problem is that the added weights can easily throw you off balance. The idea behind pilates is a natural flow of motion. Sometimes adding weight restricts your range of motion and you are doing little more than working out with weights.</p>
<p>All and all, the pilaties approach to fitness is wonderful. It is a safe, effective exercise program that suits nearly everyone. Finding one that provides reasonable challenges can be a challenge in itself.</p>

<p><strong>History of Pilates</strong></p>
<p>German born Joseph H. Pilates is the founder of the Pilates body training program. He was plagued with asthma as a child and this condition left him in a weakened state. In an effort to build up the strength of his body, Pilates took up various sports and eventually became an avid sports enthusiast and participant. As fate would have it his career path took him into the medical field where he practiced as a nurse in England during World War I.</p>
<p>As men returned from the battle front, Pilates, through his developed exercise routines and equipment, instituted these methods to effectively help those patients who were immobilized because of injuries they had sustained. These exercises were a combination of yoga and martial arts that utilized the powerful connection between the body and mind.</p>
<p><strong>The Basics of Pilates</strong></p>
<p>There are two schools of thinking when it comes to Pilates body in motion training. Those two methods are the use of an exercise mat and the proper training. The other school of thought is the use of the Pilates body principles coupled with the use of exercising accessories.Â </p>
<p>In either case resistance is provided. The method that that uses the exercise mat and proper training utilizes the weight of the exerciserâ€™s body to provide the resistance that is needed. In the case of the exercise equipment the resistance is provided by the accessories.</p>
<p>The benefits of Pilates body in motion training can be realized by anyone regardless of their physical condition. The important thing to remember, however, is that to be beneficial and to prevent injury, the exercises need to be performed correctly. This is of great importance when properly using Pilates machines as well as the performance of the various exercise routines.Â  Therefore, it is important to be trained by a qualified instructor. This trained instruction can happen via a personal workout, in a group setting conducted by a qualified instructor or through video presentations.</p>
<p>Other helpful hints, in performing the Pilates body movements, are the encouragement to wear loose fitting clothes as well as conducting the exercises without shoes. Also when performing the movements it is important to remember that the motions should be smooth yet strong and agile.</p>
<p>It is also important to remember the original intent of the Pilates in motion body movements were designed to work in concert with the cadence of the breathing. In addition, it is important to focus on the muscles that are being employed in the various exercise routines.Â  Again, it is valuable to emphasize that the goal of the Pilates body training program is the union of the physical with the mental in order to diminish the stresses of life.</p>
